The purpose of this role is to provide Geo/divisional HSE Support in order that Novartis attains the expected standard of HSE resilience and sustainability targets across its operational portfolio in the region.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Novartis systems to verify compliance with HSE relevant responsible procurement commitments
  • Executes risk assessments of selected business critical 3rd party suppliers
  • Contributes to the overall 3rd party supplier improvement program
  • Follows the EPRM processes, standards, and ensures tracking of findings to support supplier oversight on HSE aspects
  • Drive Sustainability targets with supplier.
  • Summarize key learnings and share where appropriate in the Region and within ESO
  • Executes the HSE up-front due diligence assessments of new 3rd party and existing supplier as per internal Guidance and synergy with HSE ERC and EPRM Operations.
  • Reviews and monitors HSE relevant events at the supplier’s base.
  • Timely Reviews and monitors mitigation action with the supplier resulting from HSE non-compliance and Environment sustainability commitments of Novartis.
  • Contributes to develop and maintain a 3rd party risk portfolio supporting HSE risk and opportunity assessment
  • Ensures regular HSE training of all internal people involved in 3rd party process in the country and region

Desirable Requirements:


Work Experience:

  • Graduate in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering or post graduate
  • 5-10 years HSE work experience in chemical / pharmaceutical industry with 1-2 years in medium / large site or large organization.
  • Should have conducted HSE audits as lead auditor or as co-auditor for HSE management system including local legal regulations
  • Certified HSE auditor by training through internal course or from reputed organization or Lead Auditor for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 system
